A Salon Concert is a fancy name for a House Concert. The term ‘House Concert’ can confuse some people and is best explained this way: it is a concert...in a house.
The Salon Concert experience is about music and intimacy. It is a full on concert minus the fog machine, laser lights, and speaker stacks. Depending on the house, the average Salon is about 30 people or can be as large as 120 as long as the proper sound reinforcement is available. Tickets are reserved or pre-paid and are generally between $25.00-$45.00. A Salon Concert is NOT a party. That can happen after the concert. Audiences are free to BYOB and responsibly enjoy a couple glasses of whatever during the performance.
For longtime listeners, the Salon Concert can be the best way to hear some of the music that means something to them, and for newcomers The Salon is like a first date that goes to second base... the metaphor is a little clunky but you get the picture. It is a guaranteed engaging night that fans new and old will not soon forget.
